Job summary

HM Cragg, an independent dealer partner for Generac, seeks a Journeyman Electrician to install, service, and repair critical backup power systems across the region. Travel up to 75% is expected, with most sites within a 6-hour driving radius and weekends at home.

Company-provided tools and a vehicle are included, with overtime opportunities and a clear career path. You will work with DC power equipment, generators, transfer switches, and UPS systems, ensuring safety and compliance while

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman Electrician license in Nebraska.
• Strong knowledge of DC power equipment in telecom, switchgear, control, and UPS.
• Strong knowledge of generators, transfer switches, and distribution equipment.
• Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance, and DOT/HAZMAT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled electrical work in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
• Install and replace backup generator systems.
• Determine modifications when obstructions occur during installation.
• Develop strong communication with Electrical Manager/Master Electrician and cross-departmentally.
• Work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions.
• Proficient use of standard electrician tools and testing instruments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Active Journeyman Electrician license in Nebraska.

• Strong knowledge of generators, transfer switches, and distribution equipment.
• Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements.
• Adheres to company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and Safety Policy.

Travel Expectations:

• Get the chance to work on diverse projects across the region without extensive long-haul travel. Most job sites are within a 6-hour driving radius.
• Travel can be up to 75%, but you'll typically be home every weekend.
• All travel expenses are covered, including hotel accommodations, per diem, company vehicle, and fuel card.
• Ideal for electricians who enjoy being in the field, seeing new locations, and earning plenty of overtime while maintaining work-life balance.

Other Required Qualifications:

• Ability to work at various heights.
• Ability to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 150 lbs.) repetitively on a regular basis.
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening.
