Job summary

Aurora Energy Services in Houston, TX, is growing its electrical construction and repair team and seeks a licensed Electrician to join our commercial, industrial, solar, and construction project teams.

This role covers new construction, installation, commissioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting across a variety of electrical systems, with duties to wire, test, and ensure proper operation prior to turnover, and travel up to 80% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician is required.
  • 4+ years of commercial/industrial electrical work experience.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and local codes.
  • Able to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% depending on active projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on commercial, industrial, solar, and construction projects.
  • Perform conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, and panel work to spec.
  • Troubleshoot faults quickly and safely.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Support commissioning, testing, energization, and turnover.
  • Maintain accurate work documentation and coordinate with project teams.

Job description

We are growing our electrical construction and repair team and are looking for a licensed Electrician to join our commercial, industrial, solar, and construction project teams. This role covers new construction, installation, commissioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting across a variety of electrical systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities shall include the following:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and
    equipment on commercial, industrial, solar, and construction projects,
    including panels, circuits, and power distribution.
  • Perform conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, and panel work
    to spec.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults quickly and safely.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize
    unplanned downtime.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and energization of new electrical
    installations.
  • Verify proper operation of installed electrical systems prior to
    project turnover.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and site specific
    safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, one line diagrams, and electrical
    schematics.
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) where applicable.
Coordination & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed using work orders
    and maintenance logs.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, foremen, and other trades
    to keep builds and repairs on schedule.
  • Provide direction and oversight to helpers and apprentices on site.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and local code requirements.
  • Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and in confined or raised
    floor spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or climb for extended
    periods.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time depending on active
    projects, including out of state assignments.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with backup or redundant power systems (UPS, PDUs,
    switchgear, generators).
  • Experience with high voltage systems or switchgear.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • NFPA 70E
