Role Description

Income Power is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician for a full-time, on-site position based in Commerce, Michigan.

The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities include electrical distribution systems, conduit installation, equipment wiring, lighting, service upgrades, and electrical infrastructure installations.

The position requires the ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, independently execute assigned work, coordinate with project managers and other trades, and ensure all installations comply with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.

Prior experience with electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including Level 2 and DC fast charging installations, is preferred, but not required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical capabilities, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician: Valid Michigan Journeyman Electrician license preferred, or equivalent qualifications and ability to obtain Michigan licensure.
• Commercial & Industrial Experience: Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Electrical Installation: Proficiency in conduit installation (EMT, IMC, and rigid), conductor installation, panelboards, switchgear, transformers, electrical distribution, and equipment connections.
• EV Charging Experience Preferred: Prior experience installing, wiring, testing, or commissioning electric vehicle charging stations, including Level 2 chargers and DC fast charging equipment.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, specifications, and construction documents.
• Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve electrical faults, equipment failures, and system performance issues.
• Code Compliance: Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Michigan electrical requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Safety: Strong commitment to OSHA regulations, electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Tools & Equipment: Proficiency with electrical hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and construction equipment.
• Project Coordination: Ability to work independently or collaboratively with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Communication & Reliability: Strong organizational skills, professional communication, dependable attendance, and attention to detail.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform electrical construction work in varying site conditions, including climbing ladders, operating lifts, lifting materials, and working in active construction environments.
• Transportation: Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Travel: Ability to travel out-of-state, if desired, up to 40%
