Traveling Position

THIS IS A TRAVELING POSITION

Base Wage $25-$35/hourly; Prevailing Wage opportunities (up to $80 hourly).
Daily Per diem paid on all non‑prevailing wage projects:
• 1 Week trip – $25.00 per diem daily
• 2 Week trip – $40.00 per diem daily
Crew lodging paid for by FSG. Employees must be willing to travel by airline.

Work/Travel Schedule: Traveling requirements for up to 10 days (2 paid travel days + 8 working days) and 4 days off. Rotation of work shift possible: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift depending on project requirements. Most work will be on the 1st or 2nd shift; 3rd shift is rare but could be required at times.

Job Summary

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will support crews with electrical troubleshooting, installations, and lighting controls. The ideal candidate will work with crews supporting installations, mentor and develop Apprentice Electricians, and promote the core values of FSG through excellent customer service and ensuring the safety of all work.

Responsibilities

• Support crew with installations including lighting retrofits, new fixture installations, sensor installations, and site clean‑up.
• Support modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes, and local electrical codes.
• Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshoot electrical/lighting.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Meet company attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• Current Electrician’s License required.
• OSHA‑30 preferred.
• Three to five years’ experience in the field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive customer service skills.
• Experience in lighting is a plus.
