Qualifications

Salary: $30-$40 per hour

Sign on Bonus: up to $2,500.00

Lighting Maintenance Inc (LMI) is a family-owned electrical and lighting contractor servicing MD/DC/VA, maintaining over 200,000 lights throughout the mid-Atlantic area. Established in 1991, we are an industry leader serving the government, commercial, and industrial industries.

We are accepting applications for a Journeyman Electrician. This position will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and installation of electrical and lighting systems in the greater Norfolk area. Position Requirements

• Valid, current driver's license
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of combined commercial and industrial electrical experience
• CDL B License (training available)

Skills

• Minimum 2 years of bucket truck experience
• OSHA 10 safety training
• Journeyman license

Working Conditions

• Ability to work in both heat and cold
• Ability to work 10 hours a day, 40 hours a week, including overtime and night shifts as needed

Additional Skills

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and lighting systems from 120V to 480V
• Knowledge of low voltage systems
• Ability to identify conductor colors accurately
• Experience with multiple hand tools
• Capability to dig trenches manually or with power equipment
• Adherence to safety procedures as outlined in company policies
• Experience operating tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, and compression tools
• Ability to operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions
• Strong reading and interpretation skills for maps, manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Ability to work from personal lifts (gas or electric powered)
• Experience operating trenchers and lift trucks safely
• Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
• Skill in bending various conduit types including PVC, EMT, and rigid

Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, reach overhead, and lift up to 51 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders and perform overhead work for full days. Good vision (corrected or normal) is required.
