Job summary

CVM Electric in Western New York is seeking a Journeyman Electrician. You’ll install and troubleshoot on commercial and industrial sites, reading blueprints and NEC codes to deliver safe, high-quality results.

You’ll work with a foreman, develop your skills, and support a team committed to safety, efficiency, and overtime where needed on busy job sites across the region.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of commercial/industrial electrical field experience.
• Working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, and test equipment.
• Reliable, professional and safety-focused team member.

Responsibilities

• Install conduit systems (EMT, rigid, PVC), MC cable, wire, panels, devices per NEC and specs.
• Pull and terminate wire including THHN, MC cable, and low voltage as directed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders with minimal supervision.
• Use hand and power tools and conduit benders safely and correctly.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in the field and report findings to Foreman.
• Support apprentices on installation techniques and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.

The Role

The Journeyman Electrician is a mid-level field position for someone with solid hands-on experience and the drive to keep growing. You’ll work as part of a crew under the direction of a Foreman or Sub-Foreman on commercial and industrial job sites across WNY, executing installations, reading blueprints, and contributing to project quality and productivity every day. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their craft and is ready to take on more overtime.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• NY State Journeyman Electrician License preferred; active apprenticeship considered
