Job summary

ARS-Rescue Rooter in Austin, TX is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to troubleshoot and repair residential electrical systems, and to perform upgrades and installations for heating and cooling equipment.

You will diagnose problems with test equipment, install panels, outlets, lighting, and wiring, read blueprints, estimate materials, and ensure all work meets safety codes. Valid license and driver’s license required; no on-call, paid training provided.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of residential wiring experience.
• Must have a Journeyman Electrician license.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to perform occasional long hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of residential HVAC systems and perform upgrades.
• Install, inspect, repair, wire, and maintain electrical systems and equipment including panels, outlets, lighting, and switches.
• Interpret blueprints and calculations; provide material estimates and support for HVAC electrical work.
• Ensure workmanship meets safety standards and passes inspections.
• Ensure installations are accurate, serviceable, and code-compliant.

What we are looking for:

• Must have a Journeyman Electrician license.

Responsibilities

We are seeking skilled Electricians who can troubleshoot and repair the electrical components of residential heating and cooling systems, as well as perform general residential electrical upgrades and repairs.

• Locates and diagnoses electrical system problems using test equipment.
• Installs, inspects, repairs, wires, and maintains a variety of electrical systems and equipment including main electric panel boxes, receptacles, lighting fixtures, switches, conduit or metal flex, etc.
• Ensures that materials used, and workmanship meet the requirements of applicable technical and safety standards and will pass inspection.
• interprets blueprints and specifications to determine electrical requirements for construction and calculates materials needed. Provides cost estimates for residential and some commercial electrical services. May provide support for the HVAC department in electrical installations.
• Ensures that all electrical installations are accurate, serviceable, and meet code parameters.

Qualifications

• At least 3years of RESIDENTIAL wiring experience.
• Must have a Journeyman Electrician license
• Knowledge of local electrical codes.

• Willingness to go into attics and crawl spaces to complete tasks.
• Willingness to put in long, sporadic hours and/or weekends when necessary.
• All candidates are required to undergo pre-employment drug screen, background checks and must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
