Job summary

Ulbrich Precision Alloys in New Bedford, MA is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment running and meet goals. You will perform preventative, predictive and emergency electrical maintenance, interpret schematics, and document start-up activities.

The role may require overtime, weekends, and working in multiple plant areas. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years in industry maintenance or an AAS in Electrical tech, plus a Massachusetts

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety practices to ensure equipment operates safely.
  • Perform preventative, predictive and emergency electrical maintenance on various systems.
  • Implement process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of projects including startup and installation.
  • Operate forklift, lifts and cranes as needed.
  • Participate in daily meetings and review the daily work schedule.
  • Overtime may be available including other shifts and weekends.

Job Description

We are currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to become part of our team at Ulbrich Precision Alloys located in New Bedford, MA. Our Electrical Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical to ensuring equipment and systems are fully operational for continuous production and to consistently meet production goals.

  • Follow all safety practices and rules to ensure equipment is operating in a safe manner.
  • Perform preventative, predictive and emergency electrical maintenance on a variety of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Implement process improvements and methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Use of standard and specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to properly assess and troubleshoot issues.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, understanding technical manuals, and following written instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of projects including machine assembly, start up and installation.
  • Participate in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work.
  • Operate fork lift trucks, man lifts, and cranes.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be required to work in a variety of plant areas, departments and environmental conditions, and perform work at various heights and within some confined spaces. Based on the need, overtime may be available including other shifts and weekends. As part of pre-employment, an electrical maintenance skills assessment will be conducted.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and at least three years of experience performing electrical system and machine maintenance in a manufacturing and industrial environment or an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology or other electrical program.
  • A current Massachusetts Journeyman's Electrical License
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong communication skill with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
