Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to safely use hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment for road maintenance and rights-of-way work, including loading, hauling and dumping on uneven surfaces.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Construct trenches and ditches for culverts, water and sewer lines; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication for equipment.
• Instruct and train others in safe operation and job techniques as needed.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects or issues.
