Journeyman Diesel Technician Job Summary:
The primary function of the Journeyman Diesel Technician is to perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician in the course of the servicing.
Journeyman Diesel Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Journeyman Diesel Technician Qualifications:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Five years of experience as a heavy-duty truck repair technician with an emphasis on engine repair. Working knowledge of all heavy truck repair methods. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely. Working knowledge of P/C and Laptop Computers. Excellent communication and managerial skills. Valid Commercial Driver's License preferred and good driving record. Professional personal appearance.
Working Conditions:
This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift; lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Must climb in and out of customer's vehicles to record information and road drive. S/he will be required to wear a dealership uniform.
