Journeyman Cyber Security Service Defensive Cyber Operations Analyst (Government)

Job Description: This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located at the customer's site. No relocation is offered.

Supporting a US Government Program that provides IT services to US Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cyber Defense Monitoring: Monitoring network and system activity to detect and respond to potential cyber threats and incidents.
• Incident Response: Participating in cybersecurity incident responses, including identification, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Threat Analysis: Analyzing threat intelligence to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and recommending mitigations.
• Security Operations: Supporting daily Security Operations Center (SOC) activities using security tools and platforms.

Required Clearance:

TS/SCI

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Understanding of network security principles including firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Skills in incident handling, forensic, and malware analysis.
• Ability to analyze threat intelligence data to enhance security posture.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Several years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields.
• Relevant certifications like Security+, CEH, or GCIH are beneficial.
• Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity principles and defensive operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with US STRATCOM and US Air Force Network & IT Operations.

Salary ranges from $78,800 to $91,500, depending on experience, education, and location.
