Under the supervision of the head custodian, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds, maintains equipment, and provides custodial assistance to students, staff, teachers, administrators, visitors, and others as necessary. May help with building security by locking/unlocking doors and doing final lock-up at night, including activating security systems. Work hours and shifts may vary. Attendance and punctuality are required. This position includes working sixteen hours during winter break with additional paid time off to be used before July 31 of the following year, coordinated with school administration.
Makes decisions on task execution, takes direction, and suggests improvements. Interacts positively with students, staff, and district personnel, and may supervise custodial staff.
Works inside and outside, in various weather conditions. May encounter hazards from equipment, chemicals, and physical tasks. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs., stand for long periods, and have good vision.
