This means you become part of the union within 30 days of being hired and your wages and benefits are established through the CBA negotiation process. Your starting wage will be determined based on your relevant skills and experience, and you will be placed on a development plan that leads to a wage increase based on your success every six-months, until you achieve journeyman status. Wage increases after that are typically annual as negotiated within the union contract. You can also look forward to paid benefits as part of your union affiliation, a retirement pension, access to a 401K plan, and 10 paid holidays.

OVERVIEW:
At the direction of your Service Advisor, you’ll perform the diagnoses and repair of golf and utility carts while ensuring all repairs address the problem and not the symptom. You’ll also be expected to identify additional safety, mechanical and other items in need of repair when working on the equipment. These additional repairs are to be clearly documented on the work order as well as communicated directly to the customer with the goal of gaining approval to go forward with them before the work is done, or before leaving the job site if on the road. You’ll keep track of your time throughout the day to ensure correct billing of your 8 hours each day. You will work closely with your Service Advisor to mitigate when lost, and/or overtime may be incurred, and you’ll keep them updated on your job progress through the day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Repair and Maintenance
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel and hydraulic systems on new, used and/or rental golf and utility cart equipment.
- Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Determine if additional parts are needed to complete the repair or as a follow-up to preventive maintenance service and order necessary parts.
- Add any additional repair work and time to the work order before closing.
- Complete work orders daily, to maintain a clean “Work in Progress” report.
- Return warranty parts within 48hrs of warranty repair. Ensure parts are tagged and labeled for accurate identification.
- Notify customer to “Red Tag” equipment if it is not safe to use. Advise Customer of the safety issue(s) and obtain signature as acknowledgement that they are aware of safety issue(s). Notify Service Advisor.
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections on new equipment as assigned.
Customer Service
- Check and review work order for clarity, detail, and completeness prior to presenting to the customer for signature.
- Ensure customer understands what was done and what is next for every job, communicating in person, via text or email per customer preference/agreement.
General Duties
- Regularly use personal protective equipment in the performance of each job.
- Track parts inventory in service vehicles. Re-order parts as needed to keep vehicle stocked.
- Keep van or assigned shop bay clean, organized, and ASEC compliant always.
- If assigned a company vehicle, proactively stay on top of vehicle maintenance items including cracked windshields, worn tires, brakes, etc.
- Stay updated on current Toyota product(s) via on-line training, and any other information/ materials provided.
- Attend all regularly scheduled service and safety meetings and complete assigned safety training on time.
- Drive in accordance with established DMV and TMH driving rules and regulations, always being courteous.
- Follow environmental and safety regulations, immediately reporting potential hazards that may cause injury to your supervisor.
- Follow written policies and procedures in the company IIPP Program and Employee Handbook.
- Willingly accept other duties, responsibilities and/or special projects as directed by management.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Cart Mechanic/Technician.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work safely under pressure, take general directions and use good judgement when working independently.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to shift priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to act in a way that is consistent with our values.
- Basic knowledge of computers and ability to type information and take photos with a mobile device.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle and other industrial equipment if necessary to travel to customer site(s) and test equipment.
- Clear Background, Drug screen and DMV report.
Desired
- Technical school certificate of completion
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 80% is spent bending, squatting, standing, or moving about in fluctuating temperatures and environments both indoors and outdoors.
- Approximately 15% could be spent driving to and from customer sites and/or forklift equipment.
- Approximately 5% is spent working with a computer tablet, using dexterity of fingers.
- Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement required for driving equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
