Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform maintenance and repairs related to building structures, including building and modifying countertops, shelving, replacing and repairing doors, installing locksets, corner guards, cart corrals, slatwall, and performing painting and fabrication, all in compliance with local building codes.

Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine materials needed, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structures or fixtures. Select appropriate materials, prepare layouts, mark cutting and assembly lines, shape materials to specified measurements, and assemble components using nails, dowel pins, or glue. Verify the accuracy of structures with tools like a plumb bob and carpenter's level. Respond to safety concerns, maintain work lists, and assist in preparing bill of materials. Follow company guidelines and policies, and perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Driver’s License; must be at least 21 years old; willing to submit to DL Monitoring; satisfactory performance reviews; strong communication skills, including effective communication with stores; ability to read blueprints; familiarity with power saws and related tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of technical school; at least 3 years of related experience as a Carpenter II or equivalent.
