A leading supermarket chain is seeking a skilled Carpenter II to perform maintenance and repairs on building structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading blueprints, strong communication skills, and familiarity with power tools. This role involves ensuring compliance with local building codes and assisting with various maintenance tasks. Perform maintenance and repairs related to building structures, including building and modifying countertops, shelving, replacing doors, installing locksets, corner guards, cart corrals, slatwall, and performing painting and fabrication in compliance with local building codes.
Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine materials needed and dimensions. Select appropriate materials, prepare layouts, mark cutting and assembly lines, shape materials, and assemble components using nails, dowel pins, or glue. Verify structures for accuracy using tools like a plumb bob and carpenter's level. Respond to safety issues, maintain work lists, and assist in preparing bill of material lists. Follow company guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
Valid Driver’s License, age 21 or older, ability to submit to DL monitoring, satisfactory performance reviews, strong communication skills, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with power saws and related tools.
High school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of technical school, and a minimum of 3 years of related experience as a Carpenter II or equivalent.
