Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Journeyman Technician to perform skilled automotive repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance. You will ensure drivability, safety, and OEM standards are met while supporting shop productivity.

This role includes documenting findings, test-driving repairs, and mentoring newer technicians. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience, strong diagnostic skills, and ASE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years automotive repair experience preferred.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate-level diagnostics and repairs.
• Repair brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Complete maintenance services and component replacements.
• Conduct drivability diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Document repair findings clearly and accurately.
• Test-drive vehicles to validate repairs.
• Maintain tools, shop equipment, and proper safety practices.
• Mentor less experienced technicians.
