Job description

UPMC Corporate is hiring a Journeyman 2- Service Tech!

This role will work at various local UPMC facilities and be assigned to a home base facility. The role will work Monday through Friday during the hours of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. At times, the role will assist with other hours as needed. This position will have rotating on-call shifts that include weekends and holidays.

The Journeyman 2- Service Tech will maintain the facilities' mechanical systems and equipment, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems, ensuring they are clean, repaired, and operational for efficient functioning.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect mechanical air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment to identify deficiencies or malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Interpret blueprints, instruction manuals, and sketches to maintain equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
• Perform preventive maintenance and monitor systems using meters, gauges, and warning devices, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Repair and replace components of building systems such as cooling towers, gearboxes, main air handlers, and pumping systems. Maintain and troubleshoot water treatment and Legionella control systems.
• Follow infection control procedures during all work activities. Complete and record work orders and submit hours daily.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Maintain assigned mechanical areas and fabricate or repair ICRA in accordance with UPMC policies and standards.
• Perform duties in line with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
