Job summary

UPMC Northwest is seeking a dedicated HVAC Journeyman - Service Technician to join the Facilities Team. This full-time role runs 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with no travel required.

On-call, weekend rotation, and holidays would be required. Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience and manager discretion at time of offer.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and instruction books.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and keeping safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Inspect HVAC equipment to identify deficiencies and repair as needed.
• Interpret information from blueprints and manuals to maintain equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and log hours daily.
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Fabricate and maintain ICRA per UPMC policy and standards.

Journeyman 1 - Service Technician:

• Journeyman 1- Service Technician salary range $25.97-$45.04 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Inspect all facilities specific mechanical air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment to identify possible deficiencies and/or malfunctions. Inspect mechanical devices and makes any necessary repairs or corrections.
• Interpret all information gathered from blueprints, instruction books and sketches to maintain all equipment. Ensure all equipment is kept in efficient working order and operated in a safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and take proactive steps to ensure equipment is properly maintained. Check meters, gauges, signal lights and other warning devices for possible problems and makes necessary corrections.
• Perform all work following infection control procedures. Complete and records work orders; submits hours to supervisor on a daily basis.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Maintain assigned mechanical area. Fabricate and maintain ICRA consistent with UPMC policy and standards.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs all duties as assigned.

Journeyman 2- Service Technician:

• Journeyman 2- Service Technician salary range $27.99-$48.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs all duties as assigned.
