Job summary

Thermosystems, a Daikin group member, seeks an HVAC Technician to maintain HVAC systems and perform on-site start-up. You will diagnose and repair equipment, conduct tests, and educate customers on operation and maintenance.

The role involves independent troubleshooting, pipefitting, brazing, and programming control systems using touchscreens and computers. A relevant degree or certificate and EPA certification are required, with safety and OSHA guideline adherence.

• 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years.

This role will require intermediate to advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of CATI (Chillers) and CATII (Non-Chiller) equipment.**What's in it for you:*** Factory Certified Training, Refrigeration Certification or other professional on the job training in the HVAC Industry.* The opportunity to work on all types of commercial equipment and cutting-edge technologies such as Intelligent Equipment, Magnetic Bearing Technology and VRV|VRF Technology.* Thermosystems provides technicians with vans, laptops, mobile devices, and other technologies.**What you will do:*** Perform maintenance of all HVAC & applied equipment and on-site start-up procedures.* Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring. Perform intermediate to advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of equipment.* Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality for equipment.* Verify functionality of new equipment. Educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual.* Problem-solve issues using reasoning and logic.* Communicate with individuals who installed the system.* Program new control systems using touchscreens and computers.* Assist the owner's representatives to demonstrate that the system has been set up properly.* Document actions taken on the jobsite to be included with project report.* Direct discussions with building owners to assist with ongoing maintenance and service.* Prepare wiring diagrams.* Wear personal protective equipment when completing service tasks.* Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to safety policies and OSHA guidelines.* Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication. Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.* Communicate potential sales opportunities to the sales staff through the quote process.* Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, product quality reports (PQR), and articles as required.* Basic data entry and ability to navigate the use of email, internet, word processing programs. Download programs into equipment and micro controllers. Analyze trend data to ensure optimal performance.* Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.**Qualifications:**Must have:* Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.* 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.* State license or certifications as required by the market.* EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary.If you're looking for an engaging career with growth opportunities in a supportive environment, you'll love a career at Thermosystems!
