Job summary

Hi Power Electric is seeking a qualified Electrical Journeyman to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on residential, multifamily, and commercial projects. You will ensure code compliance at local and national levels and mentor apprentices on site.

The role requires reading blueprints and diagrams, using testing instruments, and coordinating with clients and project managers in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Minimum 4 years of field experience in electrical systems installation and repair.
  • Solid understanding of electrical code regulations (NEC and local codes).
  • OSHA 10/30 Card and NFPA 70E Certification.
  • Ability to lift 35–50 lbs regularly; up to 75 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor apprentices.

Position Summary:

The Electrical Journeyman serves as a skilled field professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across a range of residential, multifamily, and commercial projects, upholding the highest standards of code compliance at both the local and national level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and mentor apprentices.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, control systems, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical testing instruments.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades.
  • Complete daily reports, work orders, and documentation as required.
Requirements:
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License

  • Ability to lift 35-50 lbs regularly; up to 75 lbs with a partner or mechanical help
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and moving across job sites.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching to access low installation areas.
  • Climbing ladders up to 40 feet and ability to maintain balance and footing.
  • Ability to maintain balance on uneven or cluttered job site surfaces.
    • Working in varying environmental conditions (heated, cold, confined).
    • Ability to work independently and in teams on construction sites or service calls.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Working Environment:
  • Will work on active construction sites.
  • May require overtime, weekends, and travel between job sites
  • Must wear appropriate PPE and always enforce safety rules.
  • Moderate noise level.
