We are looking for a Journey Level Machinist to join our Services_AME team in the United States.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform layouts, set up, and operate conventional machine tools as required. Read and interpret all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Design setups and methods where none exist.
- Instruct other shop personnel in proper machining techniques: set-ups, feeds and speeds for carbide and high-speed steel cutting tools, methods, and standard operating procedures.
- Improve methods for higher quality and better costs.
- Assist maintenance in diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Operate jib cranes and forklifts as directed by Supervisor/Area Supervisor.
- Support and participate in the company-wide safety program, following all safety policies and procedures.
- Support and cooperate in the company-wide quality management effort.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training.
- Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections.
- Experience with machines such as I.D./O.D. grinder, turret lathe, engine lathe, knee mill, radial drill, horizontal and vertical boring mills, and planer mill.
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of tool geometry, application, feeds, and speeds.
- At least 4 years of experience in machine shops with the above equipment.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and overtime as required.
