Responsibilities

• Prioritize own safety and safety of others on site
• Set a safety example and address safety issues on site
• Participate in job site safety meetings and discussions
• Safely operate and inspect construction tools and equipment
• Complete safety pre-task plans
• Read and interpret building plans and specs
• Accurately measure and lay out according to plans
• Lead small teams of carpenters and helpers
• Frame using wood/metal studs
• Install reinforcement bar
• Perform additional assignments as directed by Workforce Manager or Site Supervisor

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for your own safety and the safety of others working around you
• Expected to set an example of how to work safely in the field and respectfully correct any safety issues you see on site
• Participate in job site safety meetings and discussions
• Safely operate construction tools and equipment, inspect prior to use
• Complete safety pre-task plans
• Read and interpret building plans/drawings/specifications
• Accurately measure and perform layout according to plans/specs
• Lead small teams and direct work of carpenters, apprentice carpenters and carpenter helpers
• Install reinforcement bar
• Frame using wood and/or metal studs
• Perform additional assignments as requested by the Workforce Manager or Site Supervisor

Education & Skills

• Commercial construction safety knowlege/training
• 4+ Years of carpentry experience in varied disciplines
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to follow OR-OSHA and R&H safety practices
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction processes and techniques
• Basic knowledge of spoken and written English, sufficient to understand instructions
• Advanced ability to read and interpret building plans/drawings/specifications
• Detail-oriented with an analytical approach to solving problems
• Advanced experience using construction hand and power tools
• Takes personal responsibility for issues that arise
• Attention to quality with ability to put accurate work product in place
