Neil Kelly Company Inc in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon is seeking a skilled Journey Carpenter to join our team. From complex remodels to practical fixes, this role rewards craftsmanship, teamwork, and client satisfaction.

As a Journey Carpenter you will perform all phases of residential carpentry, support the Project Manager, supervise apprentices as needed, and coordinate material deliveries while maintaining safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Proven journey-level carpentry experience including framing, finish work, and remodeling.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan work, meet timelines and budgets with minimal supervision.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of residential carpentry work—interior and exterior—with precision and craftsmanship
• Support the Project Manager in delivering work to contract specifications and client expectations
• Supervise and mentor carpenters as needed, providing guidance and feedback
• Coordinate and inspect material deliveries for quality, accuracy, and timeliness

What You’ll Do

Carpenters at Neil Kelly work on a project team. Projects vary greatly in complexity and scale, so the ideal candidate will have the skills to build a home from the ground up or pitch in on simple projects if that’s what is needed. Our Carpenters are well-rounded and able to work on multiple projects each week. Responsibilities include:

What You Bring

You’re a confident professional with excellent technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. You have the right tools to do the job, a valid driver’s license, and a pickup truck with canopy or utility type van.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Proven Journey-Level carpentry experience, including framing, drywall repair, window and door installation, trim, cabinetry, and interior/exterior finish work experience
• Experience with kitchen, bathroom, and general home remodeling and maintenance
• Ability to plan work in advance, meet project timelines and budgets, and work independently with minimal supervision
• Skilled in reading blueprints, interpreting detailed specifications, and applying construction math
• Proficient with tools, construction equipment, and technology used for research, learning, and communication
• Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and communication abilities
• Physically capable of performing typical construction tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted
