Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT seeks an experienced journalist-educator to join as Assistant Professor of the Practice or Associate Professor of the Practice in Journalism. The role coordinates the Shapiro Center’s journalism program and teaches Introduction to Journalism and Reporting for Narrative.

The candidate will advise The Argus, help expand the summer internship program, and organize events with writers and editors to place students in media outlets in Connecticut and New York.

Qualificações

• PhD not required; Bachelor’s degree with five years of regular newspaper/magazine contribution at national/international level.
• Two courses per semester teaching load; sabbatical eligibility after ten semesters.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate the Shapiro Center's journalism program.
• Teach introductory journalism sequence and two electives.
• Advise Wesleyan's student newspaper (The Argus).
• Develop and expand the summer internship program with media outlets.
