An innovative care model combines clinical academic and private practice settings for a pharmacy position supporting excellence in clinical practice, teaching, and education in Infectious Diseases.

The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (EMSOP) is recognized nationally and internationally for offering a challenging, dynamic, and rewarding Doctor of Pharmacy program. Supported by dedicated faculty and staff, students develop a strong foundation that extends beyond graduation. The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration emphasizes clinical and regulatory aspects of pharmacy practice, preparing students to deliver pharmaceutical care across diverse settings. Graduates are equipped with the skills, ethics, and attitudes necessary to adapt to evolving healthcare environments, aligning with the school's core missions of teaching, practice, scholarship, and service.

ID Care, LLC is the largest private, independent infectious disease group practice on the East Coast and the second largest nationwide. It provides inpatient and outpatient care across over 170 hospitals and health facilities, with ten outpatient offices in New Jersey. ID Care specializes in infectious disease prevention, diagnosis, management, and collaborates on infection prevention, epidemiology, and antibiotic stewardship.

The faculty member will support the school's teaching mission by providing didactic instruction on campus and clinical training at ID Care, including on-site and virtual support across ten offices in New Jersey. Responsibilities include supporting clinical operations (ambulatory services, vaccines, infusion, wound care, travel medicine, inpatient consults), clinical research activities, and contributing to practice business operations, quality management, policy development, and research compliance.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college
  • Completion of a postgraduate residency in infectious disease pharmacy (preferred) or at least two years of residency or equivalent experience

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other relevant board certification, expected within two years of hire
