Qualifications

• Knowledge of one or more functional areas: Plans and Assessment, Sustainment, Intelligence, Command and Control, Current Operations, Operational Law and Authorities, Inter-organizational/Interagency Cooperation, Fires and Targeting, and more.
• Ability to write concisely at an executive level.
• Willingness to travel worldwide, up to 30% of the time.
• U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Deployable Training Teams, observing, training, and providing feedback to commanders during exercises.
• Conduct cross-functional analysis from exercises to develop lessons learned and best practices.
• Understand strategic guidance as it informs operational planning.
• Research national strategic documents, history, operating environment and orders.
• Perform trend analysis and tie operational planning to strategic direction.
• Serve as SME and trainer in functional areas such as Plans, Intelligence, C2, and more.
• Mentor and support new Observers Trainers and Analysts Trainers.
• Assist in FAAR/ESR/CFR/IAAR production and JLLIS inputs.
• Update Joint Operations Insights and related papers.
• Develop seminars for National Defense University modules.
