Job summary

Marksman Security LLC is seeking an Auxiliary Security Officer in El Segundo, CA. Open availability is required to support client sites and ensure rapid response to incidents.

You will monitor access, patrol premises, report incidents, and provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors. A valid California Guard Card and reliable communication are essential; previous security experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have Valid State BSIS California Guard Card.
• At least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Familiarity with report writing.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Monitoring and surveillance experience.
• Essential Computer Competencies.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Must be Comfortable with Outdoor Environment in Diverse Weather Conditions.
• Previous security experience is a PLUS!
• Must successfully pass Pre-Employment Background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Observe surroundings at all times and identify signs of suspicious activity, ensuring badges are visible.
• Monitor access points and verify badges to authorize entry; manage tailgating risk and screen entrants.
• Respond to emergencies with actions including evacuations and first aid as required.
• Act as a deterrent to prevent crime and conduct patrols of premises and parking areas.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents and disturbances for investigations.
• Interact with employees, visitors and contractors with courteous, clear communication and assistance.

Responsibilities

Observation and Vigilance

• Must remain alert at all times, observe their surroundings, looking for signs of suspicious activity, potential threats, or disorderly conduct. Ensure all employees, contractors and visitors badge is visible at all times.
• Acknowledge unusual activities and investigate further or report it to the appropriate personnel.

Access Control

• Responsible for monitoring access points. Check badges or identification to ensure only authorized individuals enter the appropriate buildings that they have access for. Unauthorized individuals have to go through the screening process until verified. No tailgating is allowed. All employees, visitors and contractors must individually swipe their access cards wherever there are card readers.
• Trespassers are promptly addressed and removed from the premises.

Emergency Response

• In case of emergencies (medical incidents, accidents, fires, etc.), must be able to take swift action. Assist with evacuations, provide first aid, or call for help.
• Familiarity with emergency protocols and communication systems is essential.

Crime Prevention and Deterrence

• Be able to act as a visible deterrent against criminal activity to ensure the safety of others
• Conduct patrols on all platforms, parking lots, and other areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or other crimes.

Documentation and Reporting

• Must be able maintain detailed records of incidents, disturbances, or any unusual occurrences.
• Accurate notetaking helps with investigations and ensures proper follow-up.

Customer Service

• Able to interact with employees, visitors and contractors, providing assistance and information when needed.
• Politeness, patience, and clear communication are essential for positive interactions.
• Provide excellent customer service which could include giving directions, opening doors and greeting employees, visitors and contractors in a proper manner.
