Location: Salt Lake City, UT (or willing to relocate)

Position: Part-Time or Full-Time

Pay: $27 per hour (Day Tours) | $270 per day (Multi-Day Tours)

What We’re Looking For:

• Fluent in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian (other languages are a plus!).
• Passion for storytelling and sharing local culture and history.
• A love for the outdoors and the vibrant landscapes of Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage small and large groups of guests.
• Must live in or near Salt Lake City or be willing to relocate.
• Previous guiding experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right candidate!

Responsibilities:

• Lead engaging, informative, and enjoyable tours in Salt Lake City, including day tours and multi-day trips if desired.
• Provide guests with insights into the area’s history, culture, and natural beauty.
• Guide multi-day adventures to National Parks and scenic destinations across the United States, including hiking and exploring iconic landscapes.
• Ensure guest safety and satisfaction throughout the tour experience.
• Act as a representative of Southwest Adventure Tours, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

As a Tour Guide at Southwest Adventure Tours, you will play a crucial role in delivering memorable and enriching experiences to our guests. Your responsibilities will include:

Guest Engagement:

• Create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for guests throughout the tour.
• Share insightful and engaging stories, historical facts, and cultural knowledge.
• Adapt storytelling and commentary to meet the interests and backgrounds of diverse groups.

Tour Operation:

• Lead guided tours, primarily day tours in Salt Lake City, with opportunities for multi-day tours to National Parks and scenic destinations across the United States.
• Manage tour schedules effectively, ensuring punctuality at each destination.
• Guide guests safely through hiking and outdoor activities, adhering to company safety protocols.
• Assist with guest logistics, including pick-ups, drop-offs, and handling luggage if applicable.

Safety and Compliance:

• Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and demonstrate proper use of equipment if necessary.
• Monitor guest well-being during hikes and other physically demanding activities.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid or seeking medical assistance as needed.
• Complete incident reports and refusal waivers when required.

Communication and Coordination:

• Maintain clear and professional communication with guests, colleagues, and management.
• Stay informed about local regulations, park policies, and relevant safety guidelines.
• Report any issues, guest feedback, or concerns to the Operations Team promptly.

Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:

• Safely operate tour vehicles, adhering to driving regulations and company standards.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs immediately.

Professional Conduct:

• Represent Southwest Adventure Tours with professionalism, courtesy, and enthusiasm.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect when interacting with diverse groups.
• Uphold the company’s commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.

Language Proficiency (if applicable):

• Provide tours in one or more foreign languages (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, or others) as required.
• Translate information and communicate effectively with non-English-speaking guests.
