Job Overview

We are seeking a Principal Portfolio Lead in Statistical Programming - Oncology to be based at one of our offices in Spring House, PA; Raritan, NJ; Titusville, NJ; or La Jolla, CA. (No remote work.)

Position Summary

This highly experienced project leader will have expertise in programming strategies, practices, methods, processes, technologies, industry standards, and complex data structures. Responsibilities include formulating programming strategies across a portfolio, overseeing operations, planning, and execution of programming activities, managing stakeholders, and providing technical guidance to teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and completion of programming activities within the assigned portfolio, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  2. Mentor and guide programming staff and team leads.
  3. Identify and manage risks and issues impacting deliverables.
  4. Enhance efficiency and share knowledge across projects.
  5. Design programming strategies for consistency, efficiency, and quality.
  6. Manage resource demand, allocation, and forecasting.
  7. Oversee vendor contracts, budgets, and outsourced activities.
  8. Lead programming aspects of regulatory inspections and audits.
  9. Contribute to submission strategies and ensure compliance.
  10. Lead departmental innovation, process improvements, and standards development.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Oversee design, development, and maintenance of clinical databases.
  • Implement data standards and analysis dataset design across trials.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Approximately 6+ years of experience in pharma, CRO, or biotech.
  • Deep knowledge of programming practices, tools, and processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH-GCP, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience with outsourcing and vendor management.
  • Expertise in CDISC standards and programming languages (SAS required, R/Python preferred).
  • Experience in Oncology is a plus.
