Job Description: Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Automation Engineer, Delta V, to join our MAKE Asset Management Organization at our US Large Molecule Drug Substance Site in Wilson, North Carolina.

While this role will support site operations in Wilson, NC, it will also support project phases across design & construction. During the design phase, presence with our design teams in the Greater Philadelphia area is required up to 10%. Afterward, support will be on-site in Wilson, NC, with travel expected to be around 10%. The hiring team will coordinate travel and relocation based on your current location.

The role involves supporting and maintaining Delta V systems, project execution, upgrades, vendor management, validation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position is integral to the automation of a highly automated manufacturing process, sharing data across multiple platforms to support production and process control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the automation systems – Delta V.
  • Lead and support project execution, including code changes and validation protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and support risk assessments and investigations.
  • Participate in compliance inspections and apply sound engineering principles.
  • Deliver and execute the Site Delta V strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in validation practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or biopharmaceutical environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Emerson Delta V and Delta V Batch Control.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation networks and protocols (PROFINET, EthernetIP, ModbusTCP).
  • Understanding of ISA S95 & S88 standards and OSI PI Historian and MES systems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of S95 Level 1 systems, ERP, Quality Systems, and Data warehouses.
  • Understanding of cGMP regulations related to CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU GMP Annex 11.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, experience in GMP environments, project management certification, and familiarity with Industry 4.0/IoT.

This position is anticipated to close on 4/6/2025, with potential extensions.
