We are looking for a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

To succeed as a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Johnnie’s Jazz Bar & Grille is dedicated to Johnnie Genevieve (Miller) Bills, a piano player for silent movies at the very first B&B Theatres in 1924. Johnnie’s original piano has been restored and is sitting on our stage. Johnnie (named after her father’s choice of Johnny as a boy’s name) was playing at The Lyric theater in Salisbury, Missouri when Elmer Bills bought the location in 1924. Smitten by her charm, love of life, and youthful exuberance, Elmer fell in love and they married a few years later. Their son Elmer Bills, Jr. joined forces with Sterling Bagby to create B&B Theatres. Johnnie worked at the theater her whole life, selling tickets and making friends. She was beloved by all who enjoyed the magic of movies. A prodigious bridge player and bourbon enthusiast, Johnnie lived life to the fullest. Our signature bourbons honor her, and we invite you to try one as you enjoy live music, great food, and friends. Celebrate her legacy with us!

Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Welcoming customers, understanding their beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Knowing the drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages.
• Checking IDs to ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
• Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handling transactions accurately and balancing the cash register.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the work and dining areas, including washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.

Our theater is open 365 days a year, including holidays and weekends. Flexibility with scheduling is appreciated. We value a positive attitude and professionalism during shifts.
