Job summary

C & B Operations in Sheridan, WY, is seeking a skilled Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair John Deere and other agricultural equipment at our dealership. You will work with a team and follow safety procedures, document work performed, and promote service to customers.

Qualifications

• Associates or better in Diesel Technology or related field.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role including lifting and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with customers.
• Knowledge of machinery repair methods, materials, tools and techniques.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural farm equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area and orderly work habits.
• Completes job notes and uses a digital timecard for hours and materials.
• Promotes and sells service work, inspections and parts to customers.
• Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitors.
• Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

C & B Operations is a progressive company that has grown over 35 years to include 38 John Deere dealerships in six states. We currently have an opening for a Mechanic for our John Deere dealership location in Sheridan, WY. This individual will perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment.

• Accounts for all time on a digital timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties

• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Promotes and sells the service department to customers including service work, inspections, and parts to increase customer safety and satisfaction

• Assists with other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

• Associates or better in Diesel Technology or related field, preferred
• Ability to meet physical demands and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform tasks in support of all job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of machinery, engines and other related equipment
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability for critical thinking and resourcefulness to complete tasks
• Willingness to learn and train in new technologies
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer demands
• Valid Drivers License and a safe driving record
