Overview

John Deere Advanced Diesel Technician. The Advanced Diesel Technician independently performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment. This role supports both in-shop and in-field service work, including responding to customer service calls and operating as a key technical resource across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on agricultural equipment and Precision ag technology systems
• Perform work both in the shop and in the field, including responding to customer service calls across the TNE territory
• Operate a mobile service vehicle when required to support customer needs
• Serve as a trusted technical resource and represent TNE professionally with customers
• Mentor and support service technician trainees
• Participate in Service EDUCATE and ongoing training programs
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Complete work orders, documentation, and time tracking accurately and timely
• Account for all time, parts, and materials used in assigned work
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and a clean, safe work environment
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Support customer clinics, training events, and internal initiatives
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and quality expectations
• Take directions from the Location Service Manager to prioritize work, assignments, and customer needs

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in diesel or agricultural equipment repair
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to perform complex repairs using specialized tools, technical manuals and diagnostic software
• Experience with John Deere Service Advisor (preferred)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in both shop and field environments
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work

Work Schedule

• Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM & Rotational Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
• On-call rotation and extended hours during peak seasons
