Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating production of complex jobs, including production workflow, equipment, raw materials, and manpower needed to cover production demand.
- Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
- Purchasing raw materials, components, and services to meet the production and customer requirements.
- Monitoring costs to ensure jobs stay within budget.
- Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
- Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management.
- Handling production disruptions and productivity problems.
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Using market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
- Monitoring jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
- Sourcing, negotiating, and selecting vendors that meet the company’s quality, price, and delivery requirements.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitoring supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
- Reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions and generating purchase orders.
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Ensuring timely delivery of items and following up with vendors on late orders.
- Resolving invoice discrepancies with vendors.
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Preparing reports on purchase activity and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, mechanical or industrial engineering, supply chain management, or related experience with a minimum of a high school diploma.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing planning.
- Excellent knowledge of industrial/manufacturing planning and quality control principles.
- Experience in JobBoss (ERP/Shop Management Software).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- High mathematical aptitude and analytical abilities.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
