Job summary

Cretex Medical is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to support the Stamping Business Unit by building, maintaining, and improving fixtures, gauges, and progressive tooling.

This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced technical skills, troubleshoot root causes, and contribute to quality and efficiency of production operations while collaborating with a skilled team.

Shifts available: 1st shift 6:00am-2:30pm, Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent machine tool experience.
  • 3+ years building or maintaining progressive tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting and forming, ability to troubleshoot by reading a progressive strip, and knowledge of the theory of cutting and forming in the stamping process.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on production-ready stamping tooling to ensure optimal performance.
  • Accurately document all activities in required databases and records.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to apply best practices in maintaining and qualifying progressive tooling.
  • Monitor and support the refinement of toolroom processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Set up and operate manual toolroom equipment to produce high-quality, precise tooling components, fixtures, and other parts.
  • Set up and operate toolroom measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Position Summary:

The Tool and Die Maker will play a key role in supporting the Stamping Business Unit by building, maintaining, and improving fixtures, gauges, and progressive tooling. This position offers the opportunity to apply advanced technical skills, troubleshoot complex challenges, and directly contribute to the quality and efficiency of our production operations. Working closely with a skilled team, the Tool and Die Maker will help drive innovation, ensure tooling reliability, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

Shifts Available:

Responsibilities

Tool Die Maker Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Medical device manufacturing
  • Progressive tooling experienceBasic skills and knowledge of Lean Principles and toolroom process workflow

Physical & Environmental Demands:

Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.

Pay Range

USD $22.40 - USD $49.23 /Hr.

Pay Range Details

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Tool Die Maker I: 23.08/hr to 33.46/hr

Tool Die Maker II: 27.12/hr to 40.67/hr

Tool Die Maker III: 32.79/hr to 49.23/hr
