Job summary

Mobis Alabama LLC is seeking an Inventory Planning Specialist to ensure stock levels at the Redistribution Center meet customer demand by monitoring and forecasting demand trends, placing and tracking purchase orders, and analyzing sales and inventory data.

You will upload POs, track supplier progress, coordinate with RDC Purchasing, and present forecasting findings to the PSP Team Leader to support optimal stock levels and ROI. 5% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in business/SCM or related field with inventory planning experience.
• Associate degree plus 2+ years in inventory planning accepted.

Responsibilities

• Research and review stock levels to determine quantities for POs.
• Monitor and adjust orders based on demand trends.
• Analyze monthly demand for after-service parts and provide estimates.
• Process and revise POs; upload to replenishment system.
• Collaborate with RDC Purchasing to escalate POs to Emergency status.
• Forecast and report sales and inventory data; present findings.

Overview

The Inventory Planning Specialist is responsible for ensuring stock levels in the Mobis Redistribution Center are adequate to meet customer demand by monitoring and forecasting demand trends, placing and tracking purchase orders (POs), and analyzing sales and inventory data.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

• Research and review stock levels to determine accurate quantities of parts to place on purchase order (PO)
• Monitor and adjust orders based on changing demand trends
• Daily analyze monthly demand for after-service (A/S) parts and provide concise estimated monthly demand (EMD) figures
• Execute efficient and proper decision making to analyze inventory stocking levels for optimal return on investment
• Analyze stock levels by part size to ensure warehouse has adequate space to store all stock
• Plan inventory levels for future seasonal months while incorporating lead time
• Upload POs to Mobis’ replenishment system for RDC stock replenishment
• Track POs from suppliers to report and expedite past-due items
• Prepare and coordinate new model parts planning
• Upload, process, cancel, and revise POs as needed
• Collaborate with RDC Purchasing department to determine when to elevate POs to Emergency status
• Gather and analyze sales and inventory data from replenishment system in order to complete forecasting reports
• Present finding of forecasting reports to PSP Team Leader as needed
• Utilize sales and inventory reports for Mobis RDC’s Plan of Action when making ordering decisions
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Statistics, or related field, plus 0 + years of experience in an inventory planning OR Associate degree with 2+ years of experience in an inventory planning.
