R. Poust, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Service Technician in New Jersey to diagnose, service, and repair residential systems, with weekend troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency.

You will document calls, communicate findings to homeowners, and uphold safety and code compliance while growing your technical and customer-service skills within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience (residential preferred).
• HVAC certification or equivalent trade/technical school training.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and air quality systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Residential HVAC service and repairs: diagnose, service, and repair systems in homes.
• Weekend troubleshooting and diagnostics: identify and resolve issues, including air quality concerns.
• Preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
• Document service calls, repairs, and recommendations using ServiceTitan.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to homeowners.
• Ensure code and safety compliance with HVAC standards.
• System performance optimization and product/service recommendations.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams and manufacturer specifications.
• Provide a professional service experience with a customer-first approach.

What You’ll Do

• Residential HVAC Service & Repairs– Diagnose, service, and repair heating and cooling systems in residential homes
• Weekend Troubleshooting & Diagnostics– Identify and resolve HVAC system issues, including comfort and air quality concerns
• Preventative Maintenance– Perform routine maintenance to ensure reliable, efficient system operation
• Customer Communication– Clearly explain findings, solutions, and system recommendations to homeowners
• System Performance Optimization– Recommend products and services that improve comfort, efficiency, and system longevity
• Technical Accuracy– Read and interpret technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and manufacturer specifications
• Code & Safety Compliance– Ensure all work complies with national and local HVAC codes and safety standards
• Digital Documentation– Accurately document service calls, repairs, and recommendations usingServiceTitan
• Professional Service Experience– Deliver a respectful, trustworthy, and customer-first experience on every call

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience(residential preferred)
