Job Title:Field Service Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water treatment equipment, including pumps, filtration systems, ultra-filtration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), reverse osmosis (RO), and deionization (DI) systems. The FST also provides technical support and assists in the setup and startup of rental assets and ancillary equipment in various plant conditions. This role requires extensive travel at a moment’s notice and a commitment to working 40-60 hours per week, often in demanding environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, service, and maintain pumps, clarification, filtration, UF, NF, RO, and DI systems.
- Conduct pump maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve basic controls issues, remote communication challenges, and electrical faults.
- Provide technical support for customers, ensuring high-quality service and problem resolution.
- Assist in setup and startup of rental assets and related equipment, ensuring proper operation in varying plant conditions.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate service logs, documentation, and reports.
- Comply with company safety policies, industry regulations, and customer site requirements.
- Travel extensively, often on short notice, to support customer needs in various locations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERICENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., water treatment, electrical, or mechanical) are a plus.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of pumps and pump maintenance.
- Experience with clarification, filtration, UF, NF, RO, and DI systems.
- Knowledge of basic controls troubleshooting, remote communications, and electrical systems.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a related field such as industrial water treatment, mechanical maintenance, or field service.
- Hands-on experience working with rental assets and their ancillary equipment.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work 40-60 hours per week, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- Willingness to travel on short notice to support customer demands.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work in industrial and outdoor environments, often in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity.
- Regular exposure to noisy environments, including machinery and plant operations.
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals used in water treatment processes (e.g., acids, antiscalants, disinfectants) with appropriate PPE provided.
- Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or around moving equipment as required by job tasks.
- Flexibility to adapt to unpredictable work environments such as:
- Active construction sites.
- Remote or rural locations with limited facilities.
- Industrial plants with strict safety and operational protocols.
- Customer facilities operating under tight deadlines or emergency conditions.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, or climbing ladders may be required.
- Travel by car, plane, or other modes of transportation to job sites, sometimes with limited prior notice.
Pay Range
USD $50,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
