Position Purpose

As a part of the healthcare team, athletic trainers provide primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

What You Will Do
  • Perform thorough medical histories and physical examinations, including injury or condition history, primary complaint, pain assessment, past medical history, medication review, allergies, and quality of life impact.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies under physician guidance, such as radiographs, MRIs, EMG, CT scans, ultrasounds, and referrals.
  • Provide patient education tailored to individual needs, including exercise instructions, treatment explanations, and rehabilitation guidance.
  • Prepare patients for treatments or procedures, perform treatments according to guidelines, assist with injections, and follow OSHA safety protocols.
  • Accurately document all treatments and procedures in patient records.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related health profession; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC) and Florida licensure.
