Job Description The Sooner Job ChalleNGe (SJC) program is the fifth phase of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program. It is a highly complex operation, which has the responsibility of recruiting, housing, training, mentoring, and providing for the safety, security, and medical well-being of up to 60 sixteen- to twenty-one-year-old "At-Risk" youth. The Program combines classroom work, technical school training, community service, physical training, job skills and team-building activities to enhance the life-skills and employability potential of these youth. Additional major elements of the program are: career skills, healthy living, drug abuse awareness, leadership/followership, discipline, physical fitness, practical job skills training and character development. Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Military background preferred, but not required. Requires good administrative, computer, communication and customer service skills with the ability to compile and produce required reports.
Education and Experience High School diploma or GED. Strong background working with at risk youth, or a combination of education and experience. Prefer at least 2 years working with youth.
