Job summary

Campbell Union High School District is seeking a Job Developer/Transition Coach to support grant-funded job training and school-to-work transitions. You will help place students with exceptional needs in work settings, coordinate with instructors and vocational staff, and tailor opportunities to individual student goals.

You will screen and develop job sites, maintain employer relationships, and monitor progress to ensure alignment with program requirements and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Workability and/or TPP program.
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and methods of job development.
• Knowledge of English usage and vocabulary.
• Knowledge of employability and barriers to employment for disabled youth.
• Understand and work with special needs of handicapped students.
• Understand general policies and procedures of a school campus.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills, tact, patience and courtesy.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• Be a self-starter and team player.
• Ability to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop pre-vocational training sites.
• Develop job sites and community contacts.
• Screen job-ready workers and assess skills and interests.
• Assist employers in identifying opportunities and defining tasks.
• Individualize vocational training opportunities.
• Maintain communication with employees and employers.
• Reinforce pre-vocational training skills.
• Monitor student performance and align with employer expectations.
• Provide instruction in work behaviors, sequencing and habits.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with employer expectations.
• Develop mobility and travel skills and money-management understanding.
• Assist in safety skills for community and job sites.
• Train representatives of participating organizations on program guidelines.
• Maintain student employment records and required documents.
• Prepare job task lists for each student.
• Participate in meetings and committees to ensure program knowledge and compliance.
