Job summary

Access: Supports for Living in Mount Vernon, NY is seeking a part-time Student Services Coordinator to support a caseload of students, guiding them toward successful post-secondary education and employment outcomes. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support students on caseload with job readiness.
  • Assist students in planning for post-secondary education or employment.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate paid and non-paid work experiences for students.
  • Network with community providers to develop opportunities for students.
  • Guide students through job coaching and internship activities.
  • Set up career site visits for students.
  • Collect paystubs from employed students.
  • Be familiar with community resources and make referrals for families as needed.
  • Ensure students are employment ready; resume preparation, interview attire, set up interviews.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate student and parent groups, workshops, and activities practice and quality assurance.
  • Develop business partnerships.
  • Manage partnerships with collaborating agencies.
  • Set up interviews for students and receive feedback from interviewer.
  • Follow up with providers regarding students’ progress at their employment.
  • Collect, review, prepare, and submit data and program reports.
  • Prepare for and participate in required supervision.
  • Attend and participate in agency, school, and community meetings.
  • Maintain professional standards in education, culturally responsive practices, and quality assurance.

Location: Mount Vernon, NY

Pay Rate: $26.75 per hour

Hours: Monday-Thursday 10:00AM-3:00PM, 20 hours per week

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role is a Part Time position (20 hours a week) and the individual is responsible for supporting a caseload of students while guiding them toward successful post-secondary education and employment outcomes. This includes assisting students with career exploration and planning, facilitating job coaching and internship experiences, and developing both paid and unpaid work opportunities. The position requires maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records, as well as monitoring and evaluating student progress.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
  • Support students on caseload with job readiness
  • Assist students in planning for post-secondary education or employment
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate paid and non-paid work experiences for students
  • Network with community providers to develop opportunities for students
  • Guide students through job coaching and internship activities
  • Set up career site visits for students

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Driver’s license required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop employment and educational plans with students
  • Ability in working effectively with individuals with barriers to employment
  • Ability to lead student workshops
  • Knowledge of community support systems
  • Ability to work with businesses/networking
  • Computer Literate
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • BA/BS in education, human services or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
