Job summary

Ontic is seeking an IT Helpdesk Support Technician for an on-site role in Creedmoor, NC. You will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, ruggedized devices, and peripherals in a highly regulated defense environment.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, has strong Windows troubleshooting skills, and follows cybersecurity best practices. Expect on-call rotations and strict adherence to ITAR/NIST/CMMC-like frameworks.

Qualifications

• US citizen or legal resident.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong Windows troubleshooting and hardware support experience.
• Ability to follow security policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT helpdesk support for desktops, laptops, ruggedized devices, and peripherals in secure environments.
• Maintain tickets using a ServiceDesk system and keep documentation up to date.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; assist with AD management and account provisioning.
• Support Microsoft 365 and engineering/defense software; participate in patching and endpoint security tasks.
• Assist with audits, incident response, and compliance with IT security policies; on-call rotation as needed.
