Job Coach for Individuals with Disabilities - Staten Island

AHRC New York City is seeking a passionate Full-Time Job Coach to join our Staten Island Employment Services Program. The Job Coach is dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment. Initially, the coach spends 100% of their time with individuals on the job site, gradually reducing support as they become proficient.

Schedule: 40 hours per week (may include early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours)

Pay Rate: $17 per hour, increasing to $18 after 6 months if in good standing, or $19 with a master's degree.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of 10-20 clients, primarily in the field (about 90% of time at job sites).
  • Teach, assist, and support new workers using techniques such as demonstration, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
  • Provide training and support to ensure client success in their roles.
  • Travel to route new workers from home to job sites.
  • Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor progress and outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • One year experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Flexibility in work hours to respond to scheduling needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including effective writing and oral communication.
  • High school diploma or GED.
