Position Overview

Boasting an impressive legacy of over thirty-five years, they are presently in search of a dynamic Project Designer who is a true jack of all trades. The ideal candidate should possess great problem-solving skills, excel in both independent and collaborative work environments, and have experience preparing design presentations and working directly with clients. Responsibilities
  • Be an integral member of architectural projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop design concepts and solutions for various projects, from initial sketches to detailed drawings.
  • Create and refine architectural plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models using Revit.
  • Collaborate with senior architects and project teams throughout all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Conduct research on building codes, zoning laws, and regulations to ensure design compliance.
  • Participate in site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other consultants to integrate building systems and resolve technical issues.
  • Contribute to the development of construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in construction administration tasks, such as reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Help manage project timelines and deliverables to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, sustainable design practices, and new technologies relevant to architectural design.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative studio environment.
  • Participate in client meetings and assist in communicating design ideas effectively.
  • Support the development of project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Contribute to the firm\'s quality control processes to ensure high standards of design and documentation.
  • Prepare design presentations, including renderings, diagrams, and other visual materials for client meetings.
  • Manage small projects with guidance from senior architects, overseeing the design process from concept to completion.
  • Keep the lead architect or designated team leader informed of progress; recognize problem issues and communicate impact to the team and seek clarity when necessary.
  • Meet project design schedule and design construction budgets.
Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 4 years of post-professional experience (Open to candidates with 8-12 years experience)
  • Interest in working on diverse project types in a very collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD required; experience with SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools desired
  • Strong 2D and 3D graphic skills desired
  • Experience in tenant improvement, healthcare, industrial, community or multi-family housing projects highly desirable
