Job summary

RDC. is seeking a Job Captain for its National Retail Studio to advance project design and production of contract documents.

The role emphasizes coordination with the Project Manager and senior staff, and the ability to adapt standards to project requirements while maintaining quality and schedule. The position requires 2+ years in construction documentation, knowledge of codes, and strong skills in Revit/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited program preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a Job Captain focused on construction documentation.
• Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and other business software and their application to Contract Documents.
• Knowledge and understanding of codes. Able to complete entitlement and permitting with minimal aid.
• Basic knowledge of construction contract administration processes.
• Effective English communication skills, conversational and written, for project collaboration and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and produce Contract Documents with support and direction from the Project Manager and other senior staff.
• Assist the Project Manager in completing Project Manager Checklist and utilizing Project Management Road Map Tools.
• Review current and future workload to determine staff assignments.
• Research, establish and adhere to authorities having jurisdiction requirements at all project phases.
• Monitor the progress, coordination, and quality of documents and ensure compliance with office standards.
• Prepare and issue CCD’s and ASI’s as directed by the Project Manager.
• Respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals as part of the bid and construction process.
