Job summary

Gensler in New York seeks a Job Captain to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce contract documentation and coordinate design development. You will work with Project Architects and consultants to ensure alignment with design intent and construction standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Architecture, 1–3 years post-graduate experience on government or critical facilities projects, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience post-graduation.
  • Internship or professional experience working on Government and/or Critical Facilities projects.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into the construction documentation.
  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction.

  • Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.

Your Role

As a Job Captain in our New York office your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. With you as part of the design team, architecture has never been so engaging.


What You Will Do

Your Qualifications

The base salary range will be estimated between $70-$76k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
