Job Purpose

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will act as a technical leader and mentor within cross-functional teams, driving the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You’ll take ownership of complex technical decisions, guide architecture discussions, and ensure engineering excellence through clean code, testing, and best practices. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to technical strategy, and collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders to bridge business needs with technical execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence
    • Lead the design and implementation of complex features with high attention to quality and detail.
    • Contribute to architectural decisions and provide input for broader technical strategies.
    • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and testing strategies.
    • Conduct thorough code reviews and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose innovative solutions.
    • Drive performance optimization and ensure scalability in implementations.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives.
  • Team Development & Mentorship
    • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers across technical areas.
    • Share knowledge, guide professional growth, and provide constructive feedback.
    • Support recruitment through technical interviews and candidate evaluations.
    • Lead technical training sessions and promote a culture of continuous learning.
    • Lead by example through best practices such as test-driven and automated testing approaches.
  • Project Execution & Delivery
    • Take ownership of complex tasks and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
    • Provide accurate technical estimations and support project planning.
    • Collaborate across teams to manage technical dependencies and deliver within agile frameworks.
    • Support release management, deployment validation, and sustainable code quality.
    • Balance feature delivery with ongoing technical debt management.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Participate in client discussions to understand requirements and propose effective solutions.
    • Contribute to solution design and technical documentation.
    • Support pre-sales activities, demos, and client consultations when needed.
    • Translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
    • Build strong, professional relationships that foster long-term client satisfaction.
  • Business Adaptability & Professional Growth
    • Lead with confidence, making sound technical decisions and mentoring others.
    • Adapt quickly across different technologies, projects, and client contexts.

Qualifications
  • Required:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (frontend + backend).
  • Strong system design, debugging, and CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Proven experience mentoring and collaborating in agile, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Frontend: Expertise in Next.js and React.js with TypeScript.
  • Experience with TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui, and state management (e.g., Zustand).
  • Strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility (ARIA), and modern testing practices (Jest, React Testing Library).
  • Backend: Hands-on experience with Python for backend development.
  • Proficient in REST API design, database interaction, and system integrations.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms.
  • Database: Skilled in PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance tuning.
  • Security: Familiar with security best practices: OAuth2, JWT, IAM policies, data encryption.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with Storybook, Radix/Headless UI, or cmdk-style components.
  • Familiarity with serverless frameworks (AWS Lambda).
  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks: Jest, PyTest, Cypress.
  • Familiarity with CircleCI, Redis/ElastiCache, or Terraform.

₱125,000 - ₱150,000 a month
