Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Jira/JSM administrator to lead enterprise-scale deployments in the US. You will own Jira and Jira Align configurations, oversee AI-driven automation, and guide SAFe and ITIL-aligned processes across teams.

You will design integrations with DevOps, CRM/ERP, and BI tools, deliver executive dashboards in Power BI or Tableau, and mentor stakeholders through migrations, upgrades, and change management.

Qualifications

8+ years administering Jira at scale (Cloud or Data Center).
2–4+ years administering Jira Align, including hierarchy design and PI cadence setup.
Experience implementing AI/automation for service and delivery use cases.
Proficiency with Jira/JSM Automation.
Proficiency with ScriptRunner (Groovy).
REST APIs using Python or JavaScript; webhooks proficiency.
Strong SAFe or other scaled agile framework understanding.
Strong ITIL practices knowledge.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation.
Preferred: Atlassian ACP certifications and Jira Align/SAFe certifications.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary administrator for Jira Software and manage organization-level settings and change control.
Configure and administer Jira Align, maintain the Jira–Jira Align connector, manage hierarchy mapping and PI cadences.
Support PI Planning and SAFe/LPM best practices.
Design AI-assisted workflows and build Jira/JSM automations and scripted solutions.
Architect integrations with DevOps, incident management, identity providers, CRM/ERP, and BI platforms.
Evaluate and govern Marketplace apps and deliver integration runbooks and monitoring.
Implement JSM portals, request types, SLAs, queues, and knowledge integrations.
Configure Assets/CMDB and ITIL-aligned Change, Incident, and Problem workflows.
Improve deflection and MTTR; deliver executive-ready dashboards.
Partner with Analytics to model Jira/Align data for Power BI and Tableau.
Establish change management and complete migrations, consolidations, and major upgrades.
Create documentation and translate business needs into scalable system designs.

Job description

Configure and administer Jira Align, maintain the Jira–Jira Align connector, manage hierarchy mapping, PI cadences, sprints, value streams, OKRs, dependencies, risks, roadmaps, capacity planning, and forecasting
Support PI Planning and SAFe/LPM best practices
Design AI-assisted workflows and build Jira/JSM automations and scripted solutions
Architect integrations with DevOps, incident management, identity providers, CRM/ERP, and BI platforms
Evaluate and govern Marketplace apps, define API/webhook patterns, and deliver integration runbooks and monitoring
Implement JSM portals, request types, SLAs, queues, and knowledge integrations
Configure Assets/CMDB and ITIL-aligned Change, Incident, and Problem workflows
Improve deflection and MTTR
Deliver executive-ready dashboards and maintain data hygiene
Partner with Analytics to model Jira/Align data for Power BI and Tableau
Establish change management and complete migrations, consolidations, and major upgrades

Requirements

Minimum of 8+ years administering Jira at scale (Cloud or Data Center)
2–4+ years administering Jira Align, including hierarchy design, PI cadence setup, and connector configuration
Demonstrated success implementing AI/automation for service and delivery use cases
Proficiency with Jira/JSM Automation
Proficiency with ScriptRunner (Groovy)
Proficiency with REST APIs using Python or JavaScript
Proficiency with webhooks
Strong understanding of SAFe or other scaled agile frameworks
Strong understanding of ITIL practices
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and data/reporting mentality
Preferred: Atlassian ACP-100/120 and ACP-620 certifications
Preferred: Jira Align/SAFe certifications including Jira Align Program Admin, SPC, LPM, RTE, and PO/PM
Preferred: Experience with Advanced Roadmaps, Xray/Zephyr, and value stream metrics
Preferred: Experience integrating Atlassian with Power Platform, Workato, Zapier, or serverless functions
Preferred: Background in regulated environments including SOX, SOC 2, or ISO 27001

Core Competencies

Expertise in administering Jira and Jira Align at scale, with a strong focus on automation, integration, and ITIL practices. Proven ability to translate business needs into effective system designs and deliver comprehensive stakeholder training.
