Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Mobile, AL is seeking a Jigs & Tooling Engineer to design, develop, and implement tooling solutions for manufacturing. Proficiency in CATIA (V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE) and strong GD&T knowledge are essential.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and Tooling teams to create robust, ergonomic, and cost‑effective tooling. The role includes on‑the‑floor support during installation and ramp‑up, plus continuous improvement through Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related field.
• 3+ years of tooling, jig, or fixture design experience.
• Strong proficiency in CATIA (V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE).
• Experience supporting production environments.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, mechanical design principles, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production jigs, fixtures, and tooling using CATIA.
• Translate product design requirements into manufacturable tooling solutions.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and documentation for tooling release.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor during tooling install and ramp-up.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues affecting safety, quality, or cost.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers for tooling fabrication and testing.
• Maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.
